Food Lowering Blood Sugar for People with Diabetes

     The food is one that must be controlled by people with diabetes keep blood sugar levels stable. Diabetics are wise must know which foods can cause blood sugar to rise and which can be lowered. In addition, regular exercise, proper diet, adequate rest and avoid stress is a good step to control blood sugar. 



Here are a few types of food that can be consumed by diabetics because it can lower blood sugar levels in the body:

1. Pare 

Pare is commonly used as food and medicine in many Asian cultures. Eating fruit may lower blood sugar. Because the taste bitter, bitter melon should serve cooked with spices or other vegetables.

2. Grains

Grains can lower the risk of diabetes and helps improve blood sugar fasting. The US Dietary Guidelines recommend the consumption of 3-5 servings of grains per day for adults. Especially wheat seeds are rich in beta-glucan. 

3. Garlic

4. Cinnamon

5. Oatmeal 

Oatmeal also contains beta-glucan fiber is proven to help stabilize blood sugar. Oatmeal provides additional benefits for those with diabetes or pre-diabetes, also reduces LDL cholesterol levels and help you lose weight. One serving of oatmeal in the morning is an easy way to incorporate oats into daily intake.

6. Spinach 

Spinach is rich in magnesium which can help control blood sugar levels by regulating insulin and glucose utilization in the body. Incidentally, people with type 2 diabetes often have low levels of serum magnesium. Spinach also contains other important nutrients, such as beta-carotene, lutein, folic acid, vitamin K, magnesium, manganese, calcium, and potassium.

7. Apples 

High pectin content of the fruit is believed to help lower the body's need for insulin. A 2005 study found that women who ate at least one apple a day 28 percent less type 2 diabetes than those who did not eat apples.

8. Chili 

In a study published in the Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Australian researchers found that entering chili in a routine part of daily diet will help lower blood sugar after eating a meal. In addition, the chili also contains antioxidants, Vitamin C and carotenoids that may help improve insulin regulation.

9. Soy 

Soybeans have smaller amounts of starch but the amount of fiber and protein can provide a valuable effect in lowering urinary excretion in people with diabetes.

10. Tea

Green tea and oolong tea contains EGCG, while black tea has tannins, theaflavins, and EGCG also. Everything plays a role in increasing the activity of insulin and control blood sugar levels.

11. Egg whites 

Eggs are good food to build muscle because it contains high-quality protein. Eat eggs, especially egg whites are an excellent food to prevent type 2 diabetes because it is rich in high quality protein and low in carbohydrates.

12. Low-fat yogurt

Yogurt is low in fat and sugar also is one of the foods that are effective in slowing or preventing the increase in blood sugar is not healthy. People with diabetes can enjoy low-fat yogurt as a healthy snack that can be eaten when hungry.

13. Fish 

The research says that eating fish may help improve insulin sensitivity because they contain omega-3 fatty acids are high.
